GALORE CREEK CONCENTRATE PIPELINE

Nova Gold Resources Inc.
Nothern BC
Project Year 2005
Project Value $3,500,000

Located in northwestern British Columbia, Galore Creek is one of the largest undeveloped copper-gold-silver projects worldwide.

Novagold has proposed the installation of a slurry pipeline to transport 2000 tonnes per day of copper concentrate in an 8” by 135 km lined pipeline.

In parallel, a 4” diesel fuel pipeline will be installed to supply the mine.

Cathodic protection and a fiber-optic control system will be incorporated into the project.

A single pump station will be located in mountainous terrain of the mine site.

A 300 bar piston diaphragm pump will provide the motive power to transport the concentrated ore slurry at a rate of 134 m³/day to the filter plant.

PSI has provided a detailed feasibility study, which consisted of:

Slurry sample laboratory test report
Pipeline hydraulic analysis
Major component sizing
Freeze protection study
System operation & control philosophy
Capital & operating cost estimates
Construction plan & schedule
Process flow, piping & instrument diagrams
