Structural Engineer
|
MG Engineering Inc. (MG) provides engineering, and consulting services to the Chemical, Pulp and Paper and Mining industries. MG has offices in Vancouver and Gibsons, BC. We are looking for a qualified Structural Engineer to join our highly experienced, multi-discipline engineering team. The qualified candidate could locate in either the Vancouver or Gibsons office.
Key responsibilities include:
● Detailed design of heavy industrial structures related to plants, mills and mine projects
● Preparation of budgets, schedules, and work plans.
● Preparation of specifications and design standards.
● Supervision of drafters and designers.
● Management of small/medium projects with limited supervision.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements Include:
● A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering specializing in structural design.
● A minimum 10 years of structural design experience in North America or the United Kingdom, with at least 5 years in heavy industrial.
● Registration as a P.Eng with the APEGBC (Civil or Structural).
● Experience in the design of steel, concrete and to a less extent, timber structures.
● Plant and/or field experience is a necessity.
● Enthusiasm, flexibility and a positive attitude are assets that we value highly.
● Excellent communication skills and proven ability to liaise with team members and clients.
